Sony announced that a new device will be released on January the 14th via its official Chinese online store. Many believe it to be the Xperia Z1 mini or Z1s because of some very obvious hints on the webpage. If this is true, the smart phone fanatics may be in for a treat.

About Xperia Z1 Mini

As per the rumors surrounding around the specs of the Xperia Z1 mini or Z1s, the first Android mini phone will be a downsized version of the Xperia Z1. This means that the Xperia Z1 mini also sometimes referred to as Z1s will be loaded with a heavy Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 Quad core processor with a massive 2.2 GHz CPU speed along with a 2 GB RAM and a built in storage of 16 GB. The device might also feature a graphic engine of Adreno 330.

The device is rumored to have an Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. However, many of the fans and smart phone enthusiasts are hoping for the Xperia Z1 mini or Z1s to be loaded with the new Android 4.4 KitKat.

The Xperia Z1 mini or Z1s mini Android phone will come with a 4.3 inch display screnn with 720×1280 pixels. This is a bit lower than that of Xperia Z1 which features a display of 1080p. However, the smaller screen will have compact pixels and hence the change will not make much of a difference. The device might also have a downgrade in its battery featuring a 2300 mAh battery instead of the 3000 mAh of Z1. However, this is still the largest battery to have ever been place in a phone with a 4.3 inch display. The camera of the Z1s will carry the legacy of Z1. You have guessed it right. The device will support an amazing 20.7 megapixled camera just like the Z1.

In the other features, Z1s is rumored to be water and dust resistant. The price of this amazing phone is yet to be disclosed.
