It has been noted that Android WhatsApp users who were using the app WhatsApp Plus have been banned or locked out in other words. The duration of the ban is of 24 hours. WhatsApp, one of the most powerful, having one of the largest user-base is now a worldwide trend. The user base is reported to be of around 700,000 users by now. It was acquired by the Social Network Giant, Facebook for a total of US$19 billion last year.
What Is WhatsApp Plus
Ever since the acquisition, we have noticed that a lot has changed ob the WhatsApp. Starting with some of the privacy concerns and especially the “double ticks”. However, WhatsApp Plus is an application which is pretty much like the standard app. Although, it has more customization. You can use different colors and different themes. It also had a very cool option by which you could block others from seeing your “last seen” whereas you could still see theirs. Which, on the other hand, is like nobody can see the “last seen” if that option is off.
With the ban, Whatsapp has added the following on their FAQs of the official web-site.
Why am I banned for using WhatsApp Plus and how do I get unbanned?
WhatsApp Plus is an application that was not developed by WhatsApp, nor is it authorized by WhatsApp. The developers of WhatsApp Plus have no relationship to WhatsApp, and we do not support WhatsApp Plus. Please be aware that WhatsApp Plus contains source code which WhatsApp cannot guarantee as safe and that your private information is potentially being passed to 3rd parties without your knowledge or authorization.
This shows that WhatsApp Plus is about to clean things now. The app developers and a large fan base of WhatsApp plus is hoping to get away from this. What are your thoughts on this?
